The Bjorn Baker-trained filly Hard To Hold did well to win this Maiden Handicap (1100m) at her third race start. She raced in third place, but trapped three deep without cover. She moved up nicely rounding the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and battled on to win by just over a length and a quarter. Nyngan Girl led the field until half way down the straight and held on for second. The Gerry Harvey-raced/Greg Hickman-trained filly I Wrote The Book did well to take third on debut. She was midfield between runners at the 600m, got into the clear on turning for home and then made good ground, late and seems suited to further. *ANZ
