Tetsuko resumed after her debut second in the Gimcrack Stakes (Listed, 1000m) in October to win well here. She was smartly away from her good barrier (3) and then eased to get a good trip in third place on the rails. She got into the clear at the 250m and finished too well to score a good win by half a length. She looks a promising filly. The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly Sheezalady showed good pace from her wide barrier (10) and soon crossed to the lead. She grabbed a break at the 200m and then fought on well for a sound second, putting up a nice debut effort. Amicus, from the Chris Waller stable, began well but was eased from her wide barrier (11) and went back to ninth in the 12-horse field. She moved up wide with cover nearing the turn and caught the eye, running on late for a good third on debut. *ANZ
