Three-year-old filly Primeiro created a good impression winning well here on debut. She was eased from her difficult barrier (13) and settled towards the tail of the 14-horse field. She improved between runners nearing the home turn, switched deep on straightening and then showed a good turn of foot to hit the lead at the 50m and then race clear to score by a length. It was a smart effort and she looks filly with a good future. Blazing Socks also put up a good effort on debut. He went forward from his wide barrier (12) and was trapped wide without cover in about fourth place. He moved up well rounding the home turn (wide), got to the front at the 200m and battled on well for a good second after running a bold race.
