The Galleywood Hurdle run over 3200m is the feature event for the jumpers whilst the Listed Wangoom Stakes for the sprinters will see a full field vie for honours and the $200k on offer.

The rail will be in the true position and the track is currently rated a soft 6.

We've had a close look at all ten races on the program and our thoughts can be found below.

RACE 1 - 11:20PM: WARRNAMBOOL CITY VOLKSWAGON 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (1700 METRES)

Cotton Tree has just had the one career start where he performed well to finish third over 1500m at Geelong.

The Price / Kent trained gelding looked to do everything right an and he will have taken good natural improvement from the experience.

A son of Shamus Award, he looks nicely placed here up in trip and from gate three he's set to receive all the favours under Beau Mertens.

RACE 2 - 11:50PM: BOTTLE-O WARRNAMBOOL MAIDEN PLATE (1700 METRES)

Engeline looks a capable mare but just needs to put it all together.

The four year old kicked off her career in Ireland, just having the one run before making her way down under and has finished the runner up in two of three starts runs here.

When kicking off her campaign she was taken back to the rear and just wanted to overrace but still finished off strongly into second.

Following that she stepped up to the mile and again, just raced fierce in behind them and it tolled late.

Sent back to the trials, she showed improvement last time over 1400m and hit the line well, just finding one better on the night.

Rhys McLeod has been onboard for all three outings and if he can get her to settle, she should prove hard to beat.

RACE 3 - 12:20PM: RAFFERTY'S TAVERN 2YO OPEN HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

La Pleine Lune is one of several runners making his raceday debut here.

The son of Puissance de Lune has had the benefit of a recent jump out as well as a trial and looks ready to go.

Held together in a 1000m Benalla trial earlier last month, he looked to do everything right and worked to the line nicely.

He then lined up over 800m at Flemington where he cruised through the line under little pressure to win the heat.

Nash Rawiller takes the mount for team Hayes and he should get an easy time of things from the inside draw.

RACE 4 - 12:55PM: VICTORY DUNROE BM120 STEEPLECHASE (3450 METRES)

Duke Of Bedford comes here in top order after saluting over 3250m in a Pakenham steeplechase last month.

He's since trialled to keep him up to the mark and the slight rise in trip looks ideal.

The Tavistock gelding is building a tidy record over the jumps with he'll appreciate the soft conditions.

Tom Ryan knows him well, having partnered him to both chase wins and he's stays in the saddle for Andrew Bobbin.

RACE 5 - 1:30PM:

Born To Shine has been placed in three of four starts and presents here race fit.

At her second run back from a break, the locally trained filly took up the running over 1300m at Geelong and was run down late by the short priced favourite but held a 2.2 length margin back to third.

Last time she hit the front at the top of the straight and was just collared in the final bounds.

A daughter of Grunt, she looks to have plenty of upside and with any luck from the wide draw, she should be right in this.

Jordan Childs sticks with her and a tongue tie will be applied for the first time

RACE 6 - 2:05PM: SOVEREIGN RESORT GALLEYWOOD HURDLE (3200 METRES)

The Mighty Spar was beaten less than three lengths in a 3200m hurdle at Pakenham seventeen days ago and will have taken plenty of fitness benefit from the outing.

The former Kiwi was having just his first run in Australia after making his way across the ditch in late March and it was only his third run back from a break.

Prepared by Mark Walker, the Savabeel gelding boasts a very tidy record over the jumps and he certainly looks capable at this level.

The cross over noseband comes off, the nose roll goes back on and William McCarthy stays in the saddle.

RACE 7 - 2:45PM: SINCLAIR WILSON BM70 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

Just Watch Me returns to the races.

Only lightly raced, having had the three starts, the Deep Field mare scored a determined win on debut before going down by the barest of margins at her second outing.

A beaten favourite at her following start, she was found to be lame post race and was subsequently sent for a break.

With no public trials or jump outs we can only assume she comes here ready to go but she hails from the astute Lindsey Smith yard and Jamie Kah has been booked to do the steering.

RACE 8 - 3:20PM: THE MIDFIELD GROUP WANGOOM HANDICAP LISTED (1200 METRES)

Yellow Sam is as honest as they come and she resumes here off a short break.

The Lindsey Smith trained mare scored a well deserved black type win two runs back when saluting in the Group Three Mystic Journey Stakes at Hobart, before a solid effort in the Vamos Stakes, where she charged home from the back to claim fourth.

Boasting an enviable record, she looks ideally placed here at her home track and back to 1200m off a freshen up, she can certainly make her presence felt.

RACE 9 - 4:00PM: PRYDES EASIFEED BM64 HANDICAP (1700 METRES)

Kimmorley will have taken plenty of benefit from his first up appearance and will relish the rise in trip.

The Rip Van Winkle gelding settled back at the tail over 1340m and just look to feel the pinch late in the heavy going.

A winner over this course and distance at his second run back last campaign, he looks well placed and has drawn to get the right run.

John Allen retains the ride for local trainer Maddie Raymond and he gets conditions to suit.

RACE 10 - 4:30PM: THE WHALERS HOTEL BM70 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Electric Impulse comes off a solid first up performance over 1300m at Bendigo.

Against her usual pattern she was sent to the front and was only run down in the last 50m.

The talented mare has recorded four wins from just eight starts and remains unbeaten in three second up appearances.

She's two from two over the 1400m and loves a bit of give in the ground.

John Allen goes back aboard and can afford her every chance from the good gate.
