A winner at one of her seven starts, the No Nay Never filly produced her best performance in the November's Group 3 feature when beaten two lengths by Admiration Express.

Linden Lady then went on to finish six lengths behind Amelia's Jewel in the Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) a week later.

The three-year-old trialled at Lark Hill last Monday and looms as a key player in the upcoming autumn carnival.

Co-trainer Grant Williams said he was pleased with how Linden Lady had returned and would take benefit from the first-up run.

"She definitely needed the trial, and she will need the run," Williams told The Races WA.

"She's a nice filly and she's a bigger filly than she was in spring.

"We wanted to try and find an easier option with her to start off with.

"I think she will run a drum at least today."

Linden Lady's campaign is likely to include the Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas (1800m) and Natasha Stakes (2200m) prior to the WA Oaks.

Williams has scored seven wins in the WA Oaks, four of them in partnership with wife Alana.

The start of Linden Lady's campaign comes off the back of a prosperous weekend for the Williams stable, where they scored wins with Casino Seventeen, Hot Chatter and High Commission.

Williams indicated Casino Seventeen, who started a $1.85 TABtouch favourite in the Western Racepix Handicap (1800m) at Ascot on Saturday, will likely step up to 2200m at his next start.

Another highlight for the Williams team came in the Listed Greenfields Lodge-Breeders Classic (1400m) at Pinjarra on Sunday, when Gage Roads ran a meritorious third to All The Kings Men.

Williams said Gage Roads would target more feature races like the Lex Piper Stakes (1600m) and J.C. Roberts Stakes on the path to April's Group 2 WA Derby (2400m).

"I thought his run on Sunday was easily as good as the winner," he said.

"They both took off at the same time and he got home just as well.

"It was also his first crack at the company.

"I think we will see the best of him once he gets to the 1600 and 1800."
