The Will Savage trained galloper returns to Adelaide on the back of a narrow defeat in Darwin at his first run since running down the track in this year's Goodwood behind Royal Merchant.

Last year's winner Calypso Reign will kick off his 2023 spring in the feature alongside Will Clarken's Group 1 placed Ironclad and the Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained See You In Heaven.

That trio rounded out their preparation in a Morphettville trial last Friday.

South Australia's leading stable also set to saddle up Karacasu in the race after he returned to winning form at Morphettville last time out.

An interesting nomination is Maximillius from the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stable.

The four-year-old defeated See You In Heaven in the Group 3 David Coles Stakes in Adelaide in his two-year-old season and hasn't raced since falling in the Group 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington in March.
