Away well to co-lead on the rail, Adventador had shaken off his rival to find a length advantage passing the 200m and withstood a late dive from Designated Driver, who progressed up the rail from seventh at the crossing onto the course proper at the 550m and only saw daylight inside the 100m.

Iamishwara made good ground through the pack, from back in the field, to claim third.

Eight Schillings held fourth after racing outside the leader.

Scapolo worked home nicely in centre track for fifth, and Flower Bomb fought on solidly for sixth after being clear to challenge entering the straight.
