Morphettville Races Review on 03rd September 2022

Kayla Crowther who rode the most SA winners last season started the day off well when she rode Smiling Assassin in the 2050 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Prepared at Murray Bridge by Garret Lynch and coming off a last start fourth Smiling Assassin  came from a rearward position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Veteran trainer Ken Sweeney was full of praise with the win of his first starter Nostryia in the 1100 metre second race.

Guided to victory by Todd Pannell Nostryia came from well back with a strong run in the straight.

Making it two wins from two starts the Jessica Eaton riddenElsa's Pride  was successful in winning the 1050 metre third race.

Prepared by Matthew Seyers Elsa's Pride came from a midfield position along the rails to win.

Visiting apprentice Will Price  made his trip to Morphettville worthwhile when he scored a win on Moscow Red in the 1800 metre fourth race.

Prepared at Goolwa by David Jolly and coming off a last start sixth Moscow Red started well before dropping back to a midfield position but was able to muster enough speed to go on to win.

The apprentice Ben Price ridden Unlaced was the last stride winner of the 1600 metre fifth race.

Coming out of the Murray Bridge stable of Michael Hickmott Unlaced settled well two off the pace before going on to win.

Noname Lane put in a good trial for the listed Balaklava Cup of 1600 metres on September 14 when he took out the 1050 metre sixth race.

Bringing up a double for Todd Pannell Noname Lane came from a midfield position to give his trainer Will Clarken a win.

Apprentice Ellis Wong kept his good run going when he rode Nana Dolce to victory in the 1200 metre seventh race.

Being under the care of Roslyn Day and coming off a previous start second Nana Dolce came from a midfield position with to power home in a close finish.

Apprentice Ben Price brought up his second winner for the day when he rode Short Stories to victory in the 1600 metre eighth race.

Being under the care of Will Clarken Short Stories came from a worse than midfield position to bring up his third win from fourteen starts.

The recently formed husband and wife training duo of Peter and Belinda Blanch landed their first city winner when Ultimate Victory was successful in taking out the 1200 metre ninth race.

Guided to victory by Paul Gatt Ultimate Victory came from a worse than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The win of Taunting gave his rider Jessica Eaton her second winner for the day in the 1050 metre final event.

Trained at Murray Bridge by Michael Hickmott who landed his second winner for the day Taunting led all the way to record successive wins.
