Morphettville Races Review on 8th October 2022

The Morphettville stable of Nicky O’Shea and Ashton Downing kept their good strike rate in order when Silent Command took out the 2037 metre opening race at Morphettville on Saturday.

Ridden by apprentice Lachlan Neindorf Silent Command  showed his rivals a clean pair of heels by leading all the way.

Coming off a last start third on the Parks track Montepulciano appreciated the switch to the main track when he took out the 1600 metre second race.

Adding another winner to the Richard and Chantelle Jolly's stable the Jason Benbow guided Montepulciano came from well back with a late run over the concluding stages.  

The Jolly name was again in the winner's frame when David Jolly took out the 1100 metre third race with Declared.

Having the services of 2kg claiming apprentice Sophia Logan Declared led all the way.

Murray Bridge race trainer Grant Young was well pleased with his charge Bamyan Buddha winning the 1200 metre fourth race.

Resuming from a spell the Ryan Hurdle ridden Bamyan Buddha  raced in a good position before going on to win first up after a spell.

More reward went from maiden class to winning a stakes race when she took out the listed Hill Smith Stakes which was run over 1800 metres.

Prepared at Murray Bridge by Daniel Clarken and Oppy MacGillivray and guided to victory by Barend Vorster More Reward came from worse than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The provincial track of Murray Bridge brought up its second win in a row when Exalted fire took ouit the 1531 mere sixth race.

Being under the care of trainer Michael Hickmott the Jessica Eaton guided Exalted Fire sat two off the pace before going on to win.

Jason Benbow rode his second winner for the day when Struck By met with success in the 1200 metre seventh race.

Resuming from a spell the Travis Doudle prepared Struck By led all the way to register his seventh win from seventeen starts.

The father and daughter training duo of Richard and Chantelle Jolly registered their second winner for the day when Somewhat Fabulous took out the 1200 metre eighth race.

Having the services of Melbourne based apprentice Alana Kelly Somewhat Fabulous came from well back to record a good win.

Horseman Travis Doudle landed his second winner for the day when his charge Rushaway Lad took out the 1050 metre ninth race.

Resuming from a spell the Jason Opperman guided Rushaway Lad came from a midfield position with a wide run over the concluding stages.

Barend Vorster finished the day on a high when Rich Gina gave him his second success for the day in the 1050 metre final event.

Being under the care of Peter and Belinda Blanch Rich Gina came from well back with a strong outside run.
