Murray Bridge Races Review on 24th December 2022

The husband and wife training combination of Peter and Belinda Blanch were happy with their charge Validated who broke his maiden status in the 1200 metre opening race at Murray Bridge on Saturday.

Having the services of Barend Vorster and costing $40,000 at the Adelaide Magic Millions yearling sale Validated  came from the rear of the field and will now be spelled ahead of being prepared for three-year-old races during the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival.

Family connections again prevailed when the father and daughter combination of Shane and Cassy Oxlade won the 1200 metre second race with One More Jack.

Ridden by in-form apprentice Ellis Wong One Mare Jack led all the way.

The omen tip for the day Pudding lived up to his good form when he took out the 1600 metre third race.

Being under the care of Richard and Chantelle Jolly the Jake Toeroek guided Pudding was well placed. 

Jake Toeroek landed an early double when he rode Seafaring to a win in the 1200 metre fourth race.

Being under the care of Jarrod Lynch and coming off a previous start fifth Seafaring gradually improved from a midfield position to win.

Leading the metropolitan jockeys' title Jake Toeroek brought up his third winner for the day when he rode Saskatoon to a win in the 1400 metre fifth race.

Giving the training combination of Richard and Chantelle Joly their second winner for the afternoon Saskatoon led all the way.

Trainer Michael Hickmott was well pleased with the win of his charge Oath of Omerta in the 2500 metre sixth race.

Guided to victory by Jessica Eaton Oath of Omerta came from a midfield position to run down Clever Man on the post.

Jake Toeroek brought up a personal best when he rode his fourth metropolitan winner for the day when My Ruby won the 900 metre seventh race.

Trained by Glen Kent and Wayne Francis My Ruby came from a better than midfield position to bring up her fourth win from twenty-one starts.

Making the most of racing on his home track Michael Hickmott landed his second winner for the afternoon when the former New Zealander Pontedera won the 1200 metre eighth race.

Guided to victory by Todd Pannell Pontedera raced in a forward position throughout the event.

Apprentice Elis Wong brought up his second winner for the day and his ninth winner for the season in the city when he steered Fleurieu Flipper to a win in the 1400 metre final event.

Trained by Roslyn Day Fleurieu Flipper came from a better than midfield position to bring up his second win from twelve starts.
