Murray Bridge Races Review on 5th August 2023

After bringing up a double at the opening meeting of the new season last Wednesday trainer Michael Hickmott was on the board again when his charge Alpine Flyer lived up to her name when she won the 1200 metre opening event at Murray Bridge on Saturday.

Ridden by apprentice Will Price Alpine Flyer  came from last at the 200-metre mark to take the event.

Mornington based trainer Matt Laurie was well pleased with the win of the Esecutore in the 1000 metre second race.

Resuming from a spell and winning his first race the Dom Tourneur ridden Esecutore  led all the way.

Racing in the jockeys' trust colours on National Jockeys Trust Day, Exalted Fire took out the 1800 metre third race.

A model of consistency and bringing up a double for trainer Michael Hickmott the Campbell Rawiller ridden Exalted Fire led all the way.

Dom Tourneur landed his second winner for the day when Validated wont the 1400 metre fifth race.

Being under the care of husband and wife training combination - Peter and Belinda Blanch, Validated came from a worse than midfield position to win.

The top training combination of last season Richard and Chantelle Jolly opened their new season campaign when keep Reading won the 1000 metre fifth race.

Steered to victory by Kaylor Crowther Keep Reading led all the way.

Being first up after a spell Left Hand Man took out the 1200 metre sixth race.

Prepared by John O'Connor the Jacob Opperman ridden Left Hand Man sat one off the pace before going on to win.

The number 1 saddle cloth prevailed for the fourth time when Oracle son took out the 1000 metre seventh race.

Coming out of the Morphettville stable of Phillip Stokes the Lachlan Neindorf guided Oracle Son came from a worse than midfield position on the rails to win.

Dom Tourneur landed his third winner for the day when Hasta La Fiorente won the 2500 metre eighth race.

Coming out of the Naracoorte stables of Sue Murphy Hasta La Fiorente came from a midfield position to power home.

It was an all-Murray Bridge win when the Jordan Frew prepared Headphones won the 1400 metre final event.

Ridden by Murray Bridge based jockey Sam Payne Headphones raced in a forward position and held off the fast-finishing Whatsanamegeorge in a spine tingling finish.
