Canterbury Race 1- Ceolwulf

Found it tricky to follow one at Canterbury but I quite liked the debut of this Tavistock colt who worked home solidly for third, beaten 1.9 lengths. His last 100m and work through the line was the best part of his race and his breeding would suggest that a lot further is going to be suitable. He's in good hands with Joseph Pride and out to 1400m next start on a bigger track like Warwick Farm or Randwick Kensington, expect he can run a cheeky race at a price.

Sandown Lakeside Race 7- Eternal Flame

A smart return win from this progressive mare who ran well with things against in a pair of Group 2's in the Autumn, mainly due to her racing pattern of getting back and needing luck. She settled back again here but got a genuine tempo and did jump fine so once she gets over further she should be able to settle closer. The win itself was very good, beating what I think is another smart mare in Tycoon Jenny who was very good here as well sitting on the strong tempo and gapping third. I think they're both worth following- Eternal Flame up to 1400m and Tycoon Jenny at 1100m.
