Morphettville Races Review on 5th November 2023

After recording a good win at Naracoorte the Dom Tourneur ridden Midnight Mass made it two wins in a row when he took out the 1600 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Prepared at Gawler by Allan Bain and Ned Walker Midnight Mass  came from well back with a strong run in the straight.

Trainer Phillip Stokes started the day which could be a big one for him with the win of Kinetic Jewel in the 1100 metre second race.

Ridden by Kayla Crowther Kinetic Jewel settled one off the pace before going on to meet with success.

Tosen Water lived up to her recent good form when she took out the 1200 metre third race.

Having the services of apprentice Jacob Opperman the Gary and Nichole Searle and Briana Callanan prepared Tosen Water came from a worse than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The Searle/Callanan training team landed a race to race double when Sir Kingsford took out the 2008 metre fourth race.

Giving Kayla Crowther her second winner for the day Sir Kingsford raced one off the pace.

Kayla Crowther landed her third winner for the day and a race to race double when Sghirripa took out the 1050 metre fifth race.

Prepared jointly by Shane and Cassie Oxlade at Woodchester Sghirripa came from a midfield position and is likely to have her next stary at Caulfield in a fortnight.

Superior Sam landed her third win in a row in the 1800 metre sixth race.

Having the services of Todd Pannell the Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea trained Superior Sam came from a near last position late in the event to record her third win from fifteen starts.

Coming off a last start fourth All Beans gave jockey Maggie Collett her second win in seven days in the 1050 metre seventh race.

Prepared at Murray Bridge by Justin Pickering All Beans started well and settled in a better than midfield position before mustering enough speed to go on and win.

After starting his training career under the guidance of Tony McEvoy at Angaston Geelong trainer Michael Shepherdson brought up his first SA win when Ghetto Supastar took out the 1522 metre eighth race.

Having the services of Jake Toeroek Ghetto Suparstar came from a worse than midfield position with a strong run late in the event.

Richard and Chantelle Jolly landed another winner when Pudding won the 1800 metre listed John Letts Cup.

Having the services of Jake Toeroek Pudding was well placed in bringing up consecutive wins and gave Toeroek his third win in the event.

Todd Pannell brought up his second winner for the day when Ocean Reward took out the 1200 metre final event.

Prepared at Cranbourne by Mark Webb Ocean Reward came from fifth with a strong run late in the event to gain a narrow victory.
