Morphettville Races Review on 26th November 2023

Jockey Dominic Tourneur continued his good run when he rode Midnight Mass to victory in the 1600 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Being under then care of Gawler based trainers Arron Bain and Ned Taylor Midnight Mass settled well before coming with a late run to win convincingly.

After serving a seven-day suspension Jason Holder was quickly back in the winner's list when Walk Like an Angel won the 1200 metre second race.

Coming out of the Anrew Gluyas stable Walk Like an Angel came from a better than midfield position with a strong run late in the event.

Having the services of apprentice Margaret Collett and coming from barrier two All Beans led all the way.

Little known Gawler trainer Darren McLeod was well pleased with the win of his charge Danish Fortune in the 1600 metre fourth race.

Giving Teagan Voorham another winner Danish Fortune was well placed and may have his next start in the Ballarat Cup later in the month.

Coming off a last start fourth on the Parks track Manzala presented Murray Bridge trainer Ashton Downing a win in the 2500 metre fifth race.

Bringing up win number two for Margartet Collett Manzala held down a forward position throughout the event.

On a day which saw small stables meet with success Murray Bridge trainer Gary Boyce was well pleased with the win of Punchin in the 1800 metre sixth race.

Having the services of Kayla Crowther Punchin was coming off a last start third, and led all the way.

Dominic Tourneur landed his second winner for the day when the four-year-old gelding Validated won the 1200 metre seventh race.

Prepared by the husband and wife team of Peter and Belinda Blanch Validated came from a reward position to record a last stride win.

The success of the smaller sables continued when the Kym Healy prepared Starlite Valley won the 1200 metre eighth race.

Giving apprentice Sheriden Tomlinson the biggest win of his career Starlite Valley led all the way.

The Phillip Stokes prepared Wakanjeja scored her third consecutive win when she took out the 1100 metre final event.

Presenting Kayla Crowther with the second leg of her double Wakanjeja came from a rearward position with a strong run late in the event.
