Morphettville Races Review on 2nd December 2023

Murray Bridge trainer Grant Young may have a n ice three-year-old gelding on his hands when the first starter Brave Action took out the 1000 metre opening event on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

Beginning from barrier four the Samuel Payne guided Brave Action  led all the way.

The Murray Bridge track was again in the news when the apprentice Ben Price ridden Magnetic Edge  took out the 1550 metre second race.

Prepared by John Hickmott and Carina Riggs Magnetic Edge came with a late run from a midfield position.

Jockey Lachlan Neindorf continued his good run when he rode Crown Mint to a win in the 1950 metre third race.

Jointly trained by Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle Crown Mint came from second last with a powerful run late in the event to win.

The win of Shootloose gave the Gawler stable of Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor their fifth consecutive win on a Saturday in the 1250 metre fifth race.

Having the services of Jacob Opperman and bringing up successive wins Shootloose came from a worse than midfield position to meet with success.

Apprentice Ben Price landed his second winner for the day when Fancify won the 1400 metre sixth race.

Trained at Wellington by Michael Hickmott Fancify was well placed.

The Shereden Tomlinson ridden Vintage Start brought up successive wins when he won the 1000 metre seventh race.

Being under the care of Richard and Chantelle jolly Vintage Star improved from a midfield position before going into win.

Strathalbyn based trainers Wayne Fracis and Glen Kent when My Ruby, who was resuming after a spell, won the 1000 metre eighth race.

Ridden by Justin Potter My Ruby raced in a forward position throughout the event.

Mildura based owner/trainer Cindy Brander achieved one of her biggest thrills in her racing career with a city winner when Brander's Rule took out the 1400 metre ninth race.

Giving apprentice Alana Livesey her third winner in two days Brander's Rule was well placed.

The in-form stable of Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor brought up their second winner for the day when Wonderwomen took out the 1000 metre final event.

Giving apprentice Jacob Opperman his second winner Wonderwomen came from a worse than midfield position to meet with success.
