Gawler Races Review on 16th December 2023

Apprentice Margaret Collett continued her good run when rode Montign to victory in the 1500 metre opening event at Gawler on Saturday.

Trained at Murray Bridge by Stuart Padman, Montign came with a long sweeping run around the field late in the event to meet with success.

The Phillip Stokes prepared Apache Star brought up consecutive wins in the 1700 metre second race.

Having the services of Sheridan Clarke Apache Start settled well and maintained a front position, going on to meet with success.

Margaret Collett brought up her second winner for the day when she rode Missile Star  to a win in the 1700 metre third race.

Prepared by Sue and Jason Jaensch at Murray Bridge Missile Star held down a forward position throughout the event.

Exalted Dame continued her good run when she recorded a strong win in the 1200 metre fourth race.

Having the services of Jason Holder the Jon O'Connor trained Exalted Dame came from a midfield position to record her fourth win from nineteen starts.

Arugamama brought up her third successive win when she took out the 2100 metre fifth race.

Guided to victory by Jason Holder and coming out of the Andrew Gluyas stable Arugamama raced in a forward position to record an easy victory.

Margaret Collett brought up her third win when she guided Just Like Lisa to a win in the 1200 metre sixth race.

Coming out of the Justin Pickering stable at Murray Bridge Just Like Lisa raced in a midfield position before coming with a late run to win.

Resuming from a spell Lapilli gave leading rider Jake Toeroek a win in the 1100 metre seventh race.

Trained by Richard and Chantelle Jolly Lapilli came from a rearward position to take the event in a close finish.

Callan Murray brought up his second winner in twenty-four hours when he rode Press Down to victory in the 1200 metre eighth race.

Coming out of the Murray Bridge stable of Peter Hardacre Press Down held down a forward position throughout the event.

Bamyam Buddha broke a long run of outs when he took out the 1500 metre final event.

Having the services of Samuel Payne and coming from barrier four the Grant Young prepared Bamyam Buddha came from a midfield position to bring up win five from twenty-six starts.
