Gawler Races Review on 20th January 2024

The two-year-old filly Kuroyangagi could be a good prospect for the upcoming Blue Diamond Series after she won the 1100 metre opening race at Gawler on Saturday.

Trained jointly by Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea the apprentice Ben Price guided Kuroyangagi was well placed.

Jockey Jacob Opperman continued his good run when Test the Law took out the 2112 metre second race.

Prepared at the Murray Bridge stable of Matthew Seyers Test the Law was one off the pace in bringing up his fifth win from twenty-two starts.

Second to Nun brought up her third consecutive win when she took out the 1706 metre third race.

Bringing up the second win for Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea Second to Nun was another winner to race one off the pace.

Coming off a last start fourth at the Morphettville Parks track Never Surrender  took out the 1200 metre fourth race.

Having the services of Jason Holder the Andrew Gluyas prepared Never Surrender was well placed in breaking his maiden status at his seventh start.

Jason Holder landed his second winner for the day when his third win from six rides on Rockstar Meggsy in the 1200 metre fifth race.

Prepared by Jon O'Connor Rockstar Meggsy came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The Jake Toeroek ridden Pool Pony landed a straight hat-trick of wins when he took out the 1506 metre sixth race.

Prepared by Wayne Francis and Glen Kent at Strathalbyn Pool Pony sat one off the pace in winning.

Apprentice Jacob Opperman brought up his second winner for the day when She's Greysful took out the 1200 metre seventh race.

Trained on the track by Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor the former WA galloper came from a midfield position to win.

Trainer Jon O'Connor brought up his second win for the after noon when San Lucido took out the 1200 metre eighth race.

Ridden to victory by Dom Tourneur San Lucido came from last along the rails to win.

Murray Bridge trainer Peter Hardacre landed his fifth winner from his last nine starters when Billie Bronx took out the 1506 metre final event.

Ridden by apprentice Alana Livesey Billie Bronx raced in a forward position.
