Morphettville Races Review on 10th February 2024

Long-time trainer Byron Cozamanis started the Morphettville fixture off well when his first-time starter Talisay took out the opening event of 1050 metres.

Having the services of Jason Holder Talisay  came from well back with a well- timed run along the rails to win.

The seven-year-old mare Wheels put in a great trial for the 2600 metre Group 3 Lord Reims Stakes when she took out the 2500 metre second race.

Presenting Jason Holder with the second leg of an early double the Andrew Gluyas prepared Wheels came from well back to meet with success.

Resuming from a spell the Phillp Stokes prepared Ironedge took out the 1200 metre second race.

Guided to victory by Todd Pannell Ironedge came from a midfield position with a sharp run over the concluding stages.

Titan of Choice made it two wins in row when he took out the 1050 metre fourth race.

Prepared at Pakenham by Peter Gelagotis the apprentice Sheriden Clark guided Titan of Choice came from a worse than midfield position to record his third win from twenty-seven starts.

I'm a Dexter landed his third win in succession when he took out the 1600 metre fifth race.

Prepared at Port Lincoln by Byron J Cozamanis and ridden by apprentice Rochelle Milnes I'm a Dexter was well placed.

The Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea stable at Murray Bridge continued their good run when Desert Dancing took out the 1100 metre sixth race.

Ridden by Jessica Eaton Desert Dancing came from a midfield position with a later run over the concluding stages to register successive wins.

The Map put in a good run for the upcoming Lord Reims Stakes and the Adelaide Cup when he took out the listed JRA Plate of 2006 metres.

Resuming from a spell the Daniel Clarken and Oopy MacGillivray trainedLachlan Neindorf guided The Map steadily improved from last with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Lachlan Niendorf landed the second leg of a running double when Celsius Star took out the 1100 metre eighth race.

Making it two wins in row and giving trainer Phillip Stokes the second leg of a double Celsius Star was one off the pace for most of the journey.

Apprentice Britany Wong continued her purple patch when she rode West Cliff to a win in the 1800 metre final event.

Winning his second race in six weeks and trained at Mount Gambier by Jamie Opperman West Cliff gradually improved from a rearward position.
