Once again Australian golf, and sport, is in the mire after Appleby won the Mercedes championship in a playoff against Singh. sunk a one foot putt for birdie after hitting out of a bunker. That is pressure.

Think that makes 7 wins on the PGA tour all up since about 1998 ? Given he had a personal tradegy in that time he has done remarkably well there.

Great win - got love that first million bucks of the season - in the first week of January . . .

Great win by Robert Appleby. 3 in a row on the US PGA tour in fantastic. Top bloke to boot.
Hope Robert Appleby and Stuart Allenby have a good 2006. They have to be the best chances for an Aussie to take out a major in 2006.
