I just watched the 1st at doomben, J.Loyd on the $1:65 favourite runs some 10:5 early sections, no need to tell you where it finished, either he or the trainer too should be keel hauled. It's talking through my picket cos I usually only lay horses at that price....but to see them riding such a race and the stewards don't give a rats.

only a few minutes till they jump, but I reckon The Chosen One for a place in the Doomben Cup is good value

I reckon there are a few classy steeds in the 10000, and at WFA, it's unlikely that a ruffie will place BUT

Alpine Edge at $81 & $18 will run a good race and he is unbeaten on track - with a few real speedsters in the race, he has enough early pace to hopefully take a position 2 out and not have to race wide although getting back off of a hot speed may suit - I expect he will run a nice 4th or 5th

Saturday Morphetville R1 One more Grandy.  I got $34 with odds boost. Only had one start won nicely hands and heels.  Hoping it can go to next level. Barrier 3

I think there are some good "horse brains" in here.  I'd enjoy hearing why you like a particular horse.  Sometimes I can see it, sometimes not.  Hopefully I've conveyed my thinking on the couple I like - who will both likely compound at the 1100m mark :-)

Also tryng to talk myself into Sat AR4 H7 Libiamo.  Expect it will appreciate the step up in distance based on last start video and breeding.  Tough barrier from the 1400 start.

SR8 Real speccy but the Edward Cummings filly I'm Divine led from barrier to box on debut and gapped them with ease, hoop didn't budge in the straight. Since beat Trekking in a trial. Its a long way from a Hawkesbury Maiden to a G1 so thrown in the deep end here but they must think something of her.

MR7 Same might be said for Hafey in the BD, put them away easily in a small field on debut and Williams sticks interestingly. This is no standout year for Melbourne 2YO's so far and nothing would surprise from this stable.

MR8 Been a while between drinks but hope to see Away Game finally get a LH victory here. Deserves this, so honest her whole career and meets the fav 6.5kg better for 0.8L defeat last time out.

MR7 Walk On By - should get cover today and she was strong on the line last start, where she was exposed for entire race - $19 & $5

MR8 Oxley Road - Moods really expected him to win 1st up and he was "filthy" with the extreme track bias - I am hoping he gets cover one back $13 & $3.60

Getting in early with this selection, and hoping for a rain affected track at MV on Saturday. The current $31 & $8 price is less than I hoped and of course a bad barrier will impact his chances greatly. If the gods smile and the track is a slow 6 or worse and he gets a low barrier draw, then he will be a huge EW chance. At current odds though, betting early before acceptances, would be foolish. Olly is the usual rider, so his engagement would strengthen his chances. He is working particularly well, but coming off a below par prep last time in, there has to be some doubt re him returning to his best - last autumn, he was in good form.

MR5 Morrissy - way down in class off its 2nd up run - has never performed 2nd up - blinkers are back on - ran a close 4th in the Standish this time last year - my BB at $9

MR6 Legionnaire - $51 & $12 - last start was just a pass - has only won 1 race out of 23, but does go ok at this track - shorter distance and lower grade are the key

MR8 Laundy - hopefully he gets an easier run than last start - down in class $16 & $4.80
