Does anyone know where the pomp is at currently? I thought he was scheduled to be back for the autumn carnival after his spring injury but he hasnt surfaced and there has been no discussion of whether he's retired or set for the spring?? At his best, probably the best in the land...

There was a little bit of talk about this horse at the start of spring as being a good light weight CC hope.
He hasnt quite got there and his last run was a shocker, got beat fair and square at short odds.
Can anyone see him turning it around this weekend?
There's some pretty healthy fixed odds about him on sportsbet. I think I'll be inclined to give him another go.....

When Pompeii Ruler ran in Dubai earlier this year he started at some ridiculous price like $1.40 for the win so i put a little on the second and third favourite and got the winner at more than 10 to 1.
i like taking on the Australian horses overseas because all of the local money is for the Aussies and so if you bet with the TAB you can get great odds on good overseas horses.
With MA, TT and BB being the 3 favourites i've got a feeling there is some easy money to make at big odds if a roughy can get up from overseas.

how does super saturday this week compare to the truly super saturday of 2005 when Makybe Diva beat Elvestroem in the Australia cup (elvestroem would have smashed her without the heat exhaustion).
Whilst El Segundo is a good horse he is far from a champion..... i feel Pompeii Ruler will win this week and win at least one of the caulfield cup or cox plate.
In 2005 Alinghi beat Fastnet rock in the Newmarket, 2 really good horses who dominated the Australian Racing scene at their peak. Miss Andretti and Gold Edition could be both be as good if not better whilst Dance Hero is a good horse but not in their class range. Al Maher also won the guineas that day but you would have to think Miss Finland and Haradahype will both be better horses in the future.
