Most super saturday?

whisperer
how does super saturday this week compare to the truly super saturday of 2005 when Makybe Diva beat Elvestroem in the Australia cup (elvestroem would have smashed her without the heat exhaustion).

Whilst El Segundo is a good horse he is far from a champion..... i feel Pompeii Ruler will win this week and win at least one of the caulfield cup or cox plate.

In 2005 Alinghi beat Fastnet rock in the Newmarket, 2 really good horses who dominated the Australian Racing scene at their peak. Miss Andretti and Gold Edition could be both be as good if not better whilst Dance Hero is a good horse but not in their class range. Al Maher also won the guineas that day but you would have to think Miss Finland and Haradahype will both be better horses in the future.

For me its
AC: Pompeii Ruler.
Newmarket: Gold Edition.
CG: The hype cant be all wrong!

Cam L you can't win can you ?
One topic you are being hammered about being too opinionated and on this one you never offer your tips ?

I seem to recall a certain listed race in Adelaide over 1600m where you posted about 3 times that you had backed your horse even quoting the fixed odds that you had taken. You did everything except lend us money to back your horse.
You never tip ?
A touch of the old short-term memory loss ?
Its only going to get worse.

Insom,

I now see how Slim picked Miss Finland.

Timesman

No one is questioning Cape North in the race - he likes to race on the pace as well.

Marasco
Haradasun
Miss Andretti

How can you back gold edition at 3.20 with dance hero in the race providing the pace and g.e stepping up to all age company???

Yes Marbine, liked the way he finished off in the St George, came from 2nd last btn less then a length. I'm not letting Aqua D win another G1 without me but this one's def in the mix for mine and I'll be looking for him in the last furlong. The way they are taking turns with these Caulfield WFA races anything can happen.

Cheers

Blutigeroo's normal racing pattern is to find his feat early. I think he is also owned by different connections. The stable do have another decent stayer with the same connections (he's name eludes me) that they could have used but he has no early pace either. I highly doubt he will become a pacemaker. Stewards should haul Little over the coals if he sets the pace here.

Camel look at slims avatar then think about the tip...

Casual Passes lack of acceleration cost him the St George was up on the pace but just couldn't go with the others at the top of the straight was finishing over the top of them.

Sometimes its a case of not looking at the what could be's and searching for value, and its just staring you right in the face. Normally hindsight allows you to kick yourself after the race for being such an fool, so here it is. this saturdays 3 simple things to remember:

Miss Andretti
Haradasun
El Segundo

Enjoy yr weekend

Newmarket: Dance hero
AC: Marasco
CG: Haradasun.

Dance Hero is brillaint 1st up, Marasco has been unlucky in 2 runs and will prove to be too brilliant. Haradsun to win if not don't expect Nash to be on him again. That's the end of his Circle of Gold relationship.

I was reasonably confident El Seg until the barrier draw.

If they use the stablemate as a pacemaker as you infer, string them out and run it hard, can El Seg run the 2000m right out? I have my doubts.

The Newmarket Miss Andretti
The Guineas Miss Finland
Australian Cup Polar Bear

Polar Bear? rofl With a tip like that its no wonder you think Miss Finland is the best thing since Tulloch.

Camel56,
Ok then, where is your tips...maybe you are like Khap and tip on the result. Actually I don't think I have ever seen where you have tipped a winner!

Slim,
I see the pasting you copped for you lack of reading the other day hasnt helped you improve your efforts. I have tipped many winner on many occassions for all to see. Open your eyes and you might see them too. I will give you a tip once the conditions become clearer and after I have a proper look at the form guide. One thing is for certain though, the only way Polar Bear could win the Australian Cup is if Pompei Ruler, El Segundo, Aqua D'Amour, Marasco and co were to fall over more than once.

Newmarket:

1.Gold Edition
2.Miss Andretti
3.Shadoways

Cadbury Aust Guineas:

1.Casino Prince
2.Miss Finland
3.Efficient

Australian Cup

1.El Segundo
2.Honour In War
3.Pompeii Ruler

This is good Saturday not Super Saturday thats 3-11-2007

C'mon Opaque - that's what they market it as! (you're right!)

Axl - Interesting. I was wondering the same thing re Blutigeroo - why is it there - I think you have hit the nail on the head.

My smokie chance (SLEEPER Gary?) in the Cup is Honour and War. I will be including it in all my multiples (now I know why I have to go to work each Monday!).

What a day - cracking fields, good weather - bring it on!

For the record

N - Gold Edition
CG - Miss Finland
AC - Pompeii Ruler
