Message:
I went to the WACA last night.

Only because I had a hot number in tow.

I did not tell her who I was.

Fair dinkum, it confirmed my opinion.

AFL fans are feral, especially in the west.

Friday Night Chat

camel56

Back in the day we used to get a reasonable crowd in the chat room on a Friday night discussing the following days races. It would always provide a few laughs and plenty of decent discussion and banter. The spring is about to hit top gear so this might be a worthwhile idea for any interested. If the chat room still exists I'll pop in tonight and would encourage anyone else who wants to discuss the Guineas card to swing by as well.
Percentages For Dummies (Gladys/Hondo)

When you back something you are laying the opposite side. That means when you are backing a 45% chance you are laying the 55% chance that something else will win.

45% equates to a return of $2.25

That means for every $1 you put in you make $1.25 profit.

The opposite (lay) side puts in $1.25 for a profit of $1. $1.25 for a return of $2.25 is a dividend of $1.80. $1.80 is 55%.

Understand yet dunderhead?

I didn't think anyone would be so stupid as to not be able to understand something so simple. Then again we are dealing with someone who thinks Xmas day is on the 26th December. Rofl
The wait is over! The first round of the real tip-off between myself and the degenerate himself, BK/Gadsby. Will he show up after running into hiding for the past month? Unlikely but given he was so keen for a tip-off, I will give him the opportunity anyway.

Format and rules are the same as SK’s Masters Comp with 12 selections each week over the Sydney and Melbourne Cards. We know BK bets on anything from maidens at Broome to Melbourne Cups at Flemington so I’m sure there will be no problem here.

Rules can be found here:

http://www.racingandsports.com.au/racing/displaymessage.asp?sum=1&mid=457467

Additional rules are as follows:

1. Both players are to post their selection in the correct format in both this “Camel v BK/Gadsby” thread AND SK’s Masters thread. This will ensure an independent party scores the comp. I will update the “Camel v Gadsby” thread with results each week when they become available.

2. Failure to adhere to rule 1 by either player will result in a penalty as follows:
a. First offence: Warning
b. Second offence: No points for that round.
c. Third offence: Disqualification for the tip-off.

3. Failure to post tips on the first occasion will result in a warning (and no points for the round). A second failure to post tips will result in disqualification from the tip-off.

With all that said, lets get down to the tip off. Remember, tips in this thread AND SK’s Masters thread which is already up on the forum.

Place your tips!
Round 3 of BK/Gadsby's warm up before the real comp that he probably won't even show up to. Give me the top saddle cloths again for all races.

Note for BK: Please ensure that you post your tips using the right alias. lol
No sign of the addict so i thought I'd get rd 2 of his warm up going.

Top 3 saddle cloth numbers in order again as the benchmark for the nuffie to beat.

Groupies - Tatts Tiara

camel56

A truely dreadful change of name for what was the Winter Stakes. Nevertheless, it's still a group 1 (final for the season) and we must still tip it in the groupies competition.

Place your tips.....

Groupies - Stradbroke Day

camel56

Three group 1 races for the biggest day on the Qld racing calendar. The TJ Smith for the 2yos, Qld Derby for the 3yos and the $1m Stradbroke over the famous Eagle Farm 1400m.

Place your tips for all 3 races here.....

Groupes - QLD Oaks

It looks like Karnage may have done a Christopher Skase on. I will continue to post the tipping threads but unfortunately don't have time to take up scoring duties again.

No Karnage again so I'll post the thread.

Place your tips for the Doomben 10000 here. No Black Caviar...can Hay List grab another group 1? He's $1.50 to do so but can something upset him?
