The winner of this Listed 3yo 1500m was once again Showemhowitsdone that came with a strong run from ninth on settling to score by a neck in 1:30.49. She had won prior when fresh up in a Listed 1335m at Gore so was in form and the filly is clearly enjoying the rain-affected going. The winners and where they came from turning for home were eighth (seven-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), led (on the fence and length and a half in front), second (one-off the fence and half a length from the leader), seventh (six-off the inside and two and a half lengths from the leader), second (one-off the inside and a neck from the leader), fifth (four-off the inside and four lengths from the leader), fifth (two-off the inside and four lengths from the leader), fifth (one-off the inside and three lengths from the leader) and third (six-off the inside and four lengths from the leader). Today was her third win in twelve starts and she now has back-to-back Listed success to go with a Listed placing as a juvenile. The filly may lack size but she has come up a treat this time in and adverse track conditions bolster her chances rather than harm them. She is a backrunner and seems to produce her best when ridden quietly early. Once again second was The Gift that ran a brave race after over-racing fifth and wide then coming up fourth turning for home. The clear favourite reached second at the 100m and fought hard but could not withstand the strength of Showemhowitsdone's closing surge. The filly has now run second behind Showemhowitsdone twice in a row having prior too them winning three on the bounce. She was also ridden again by the apprentice Kossi Asano who has now had five rides on her for three wins and two seconds. Third home was Gone With The Wind that came with a strong run from last early then second last across the top and tenth turning for home. The filly is a backrunner and today was having her first try at Blacktype so to grab third was a very commendable effort indeed. Rain-affected footing clearly agrees with this daughter of Sebring (Aus). Fourth home again was Ocean Point, the stablemate of the runner up and lost third on the line having disputed the pace on the outer and then being third wide across the top before challenging at the 20m and leading with 100m to go. She was beaten less than three-quarters of a length. Fifth home and beaten two lengths was Chokito that shared the pace on the inner then was fourth the inner once headed at the 800m and fifth turning for home albeit off the fence now. She ran on okay. Sixth home was Street Fightin Man, the first male across the line, that after a slow start recovered eighth then seventh wide before being sent up to lead the outer at the 800m. He was there still at the 200m and only wilted the final 100m to be beaten just over two lengths. Choux In fought on one-off from eleventh the inner on settling. Sooo Dusty was fourth early then went up and crossed over to share the lead the inner from the 800m before being swamped the final 100m and beaten just under four lengths. Tavilight was next home having raced sixth and wide mostly and was left with no finish the run home. Watchmaker disappointed in finishing tenth and beaten eight lengths as he settled down tenth or eleventh and wide and only plugged on late. The rest got beaten by over nine lengths and as far as just under twenty lengths. The footing played a role in the finish here but it was a tight finish with the first four home separated by less than threequarters of a length. Watchmaker was very disappointing.
