Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Canterbury, Warrnambool, Doomben, Belmont Park and Murray Bridge.

CANTERBURY: RACE 6 @ 5:15 PM

MYSTIC MERMAID (7) lacked a finishing effort here at the latest but strips fitter now and takes benefit from reuniting with James McDonald from a favourable draw. Travels well in the wet and shoulders a handy record over this distance. Nearing a peak third-up and gets significant weight relief with the rise in grade. Hard to beat. UNRELENTING (6) had been racing in terrific order before finding it too tough for him at the latest when up in class. Drawn to advantage back in grade and should take plenty of catching for his rivals. KIRKEBY (2) lengthened nicely into the placings at the at the latest. Third-up winner. Should be getting involved over the concluding stages. JOURNALISM (4) extended his unbeaten fresh record at Wyong when knuckling down to get the verdict. Tougher task this time but winning hoop stays on and should appreciate the extra 230m.
SELECTIONS: Mystic Mermaid to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 1 @ 1:44 PM

HEAR MY PRAYER (1) threatened here twice before the break and was beaten 1L first-up as an equal favourite. The gelding won his only second-up start and has plenty up the sleeve. Chris Parnham sticks and should be winning. VILLAGE GIRL (4) improved sharply second-up winning the Scarpside CL1. Pike rides the first time and that's a decent push. Fitter and rates to go close. SPIRIT MAN (2) led and just missed here first-up and then came back and delivered the strong Maiden win. He's also progressive and can make the trifecta. CELEBRITY ICON (6) and DIVINE INANNA (7) are knocking on the door and also have claims.
SELECTIONS: Backing Hear My Prayer to win

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 7 @ 5:10 PM

RUBBLE (4) was just beaten here six days ago and three-back missed by a similar margin at Strathalbyn. Crowther sticks and will push forward. He finds the right race. NOT A SINGLE BID (7) improved into the placings here 12 days ago and the longer sprint shouldn't bother A hope. STRATESSA (5) is a former Victorian who will be better for the two outings for the new barn. Has the rail and Holder replaces the 3kg apprentice. She can show more. HALIFAX ROAD (2) didn't have the best of it first-up and will be better for the outing. His best would have him right in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Backing Rubble.
