Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 15.

Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Sandown-Lakeside, Morphettville, Eagle Farm & Ascot.

RANDWICK: RACE 5 @ 1:55 PM

VILANA (1) is the obvious one to beat. He's a classy four-year-old who had an interrupted preparation in Western Australia. His form at the start of last campaign including a win in The Hunter at Newcastle is definitely good enough to take this out. GRAVINA (5) has been freshened two very good runs here, beaten by a progressive horse last start. Two trials since will have him fit and McDonald sticks. COAL CRUSHER (6) can only run well here. He was only just run down late at Rosehill last start and maps to get control here. He'll lead and give a big sight. BACCHANALIA (3) got the right run behind Coal Crusher last start and got the bob in late. No knock again.
SELECTIONS: Coal Crusher each-way.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 3 @ 1:35 PM

SHE DANCES (4) is a progressive filly from the Moody yard who ran a respectable fourth in the LR Moomba Plate at Flemington over 1100m on March 25. Undefeated this trip and best figures should see her prove too strong for this lot. Go close. FISSION (2) resumes today and stretches out to the 1200m for the first time. Sat on the speed when a dominant winner over 1000m at Moonee Valley on January 28. Has excellent fresh figures and two jump outs should see him forward enough for this. SHALAMAN (3) needed the run first up when drifted back to finish fifth over 955m at Moonee Valley on March 24. Look for a much better run over this trip and loves rain affected going. Big improver. TANTO (9) has a fitness edge over most of these and ran through the line late when fourth over 1050m at Morphettville on April 1. This tougher but looks up to the task.
SELECTIONS: She Dances to win.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 1:17 PM

REMEDIES (2) brings the superior form lines into this contest and should be awfully hard to beat if she's able to hold her form. Strips fitter third-up after creditable runs behind Cafe Millenium and Steel City. Booking of Todd Pannell another positive. Hard to knock. PRINCESS DUHALLOW (1) has also run into a few smart ones in her early career. Tricky gate to overcome but clearly looks the main threat. ODE TO JOY (4) resumes. Tackled two tough races in her debut prep and is worth considering. STRETAN ANGEL (5) was unlucky not to get off the mark on debut here a fortnight ago when beaten a whisker. Will have to raise the bar a fair bit to challenge.
SELECTIONS: Backing Remedies to win.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 1 @ 11:43 AM

HEADWALL (8) brings strong form from Sydney where he has yet to miss a place this time in including a Warwick Farm win two back. Chased hard last start at Kensington and looks well placed. CROSSWINDS (7) beat Headwall last start at Warwick Farm when he led and stuck on well for second. That will have brought him to peak fitness for this third-up attempt. Strong claims. FETCH (4) won fresh then was beaten less than 2 lengths over 1110m at Doomben last start. Form over this journey is strong, boasting a 50 percent strike rate. Contender. MISHANI SNIPER (9) must be respected after leading to win his last two starts while ENABLER (10) races well fresh and should be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: Headwall brings good Sydney form. Backing to win.

ASCOT: RACE 10 @ 5:00 PM

TOP OF THE POPS (3) suggested a win is close with his nice second-up effort when narrowly beaten. This looks suitable and should take beating. KNOT SECRET (6) ran on okay in the same race when resuming and will be much fitter. Draws the inside and is a threat. ADVANCED (4) has a handy fresh record and if he has any luck he can be hard to hold out at the finish. BLAZING TYCOON (5) and SNEAKY FOX (7) are going well in easier races and are hopes.
SELECTIONS: Tops Of The Pops to win. Trifecta 3-4,5,6,7/4,5,6,7.
