Khrapper, if you can't enjoy racing for what it is, (it's a lot more than just having a punt), then it's about time you gave it away.

Cheers CP.

Puller, I enjoy racing, and I have enjoyed racing 6 of my own horses, 5 were not much good and only 1 earned more than $30,000, but I enjoy the punt far far more.

It earns more, especially laying.

Just a horse. He may be the next star, he may not. Either way he is just a horse, and as a punter, he is just one that makes up a field to provide product to wager on.

He is not going to swell the returns any more than any other winner at the same odds, so why the excitement.

If you own it, that is a different story, and you have every right to add to this forum in excitement every time it salutes. If you don't own it, why the fuss (hype), its just another horse.

Because, Khaptingly, a large number of people both on this website and throughout the wide brown land of Australia see horse racing as something more than something to bet on.

It is a sport in its own right. I regulalarly enjoy races that I don't bet in and can regularly derive benefit from races in which I backed a loser - a perfect example of this was the Lightning Stakes when although I had backed Rewaaya I could enjoy and applaud the excellent effort of Miss Andretti.

This may very well make me a loser but it definitely does not make me a problem gambler.

Fergz,

I reckon the biggest challenge with Marasco is to keep him up after seven runs this preparation.

Fred Kersley is wonderful horseman so nothing is beyond him as a trainer, the question is can the horse deliver after being up since November.
