2022 AUSTRALIAN CUP winner

theking

Interested to know peoples opinions.

Who would win an hypothetical AUSTRALIAN CUP out of INCENTIVISE and ZAAKI?

Or is there any other horse currently racing that you believe would beat both of these nominated horses?

I have NOT been able to access the thread that I posted "Yet another SPRINT race promotion" for over a week now. Every time I attempt same I get a very belated message saying that "Racing and Sports is under maintenance".
Can other access this thread?
Or is it only me that can NOT access it?
Perhaps I have been barred by the moderator for taking a stance against the continual PROMOTION, invention & in many cases upgrading the class & prizemoney of further BIG SPRINT RACES.
When was the last time a NEW Group race beyond 2000m with big prizemoney was dreamed up and put on the racing carnival. Meanwhile plenty of staying races have been downgraded & or reduced in distance.
Compare that to the litany of new and upgraded SPRINT stakes races promoted in recent times with bigger and bigger prizemoney available.
What ever happened to the idea that we were supposed to be trying to encourage the breeding of more stayers and better staying blood in Australia? The like of Peter V'landys promoting yet another BIG MONEY sprint race "The Kosciuszko" is doing little to help. Why is it that we continue to see more and more money thrown at NEW Big Money Sprint Races to the detriment of some of the traditional staying races which continue to be not only shortened in distance but also downgraded from. eg. G1 down to G2 etc?

Look at the likes of the Brisbane & Perth Cups, AJC St Leger, ATC Queen Elizabeth Stakes etc....to name a few. All have been shortened over time. Can anybody explain to me what incentives there are to encourage the breeding of stayers? Are we to simply lie down like cowering dogs and continue to let the overseas bred stayers continue to plunder our riches now and into the future for evermore?

Dehere

Who writes this stuff?

"A US champion 2YO son of Deputy Minister, Dehere sired 77 stakes winners of 156 stakes races including Australian G1 winners Belle Du Jour, Dear Demi, Bollinger, Pear Tart and Invest."

How could you possibly leave out DEFIER.
He won 3/G1 races including Doomben Cup, AJC QE Stakes & the George Main Stakes.

He also finished second in consecutive G1 Cox Plates to Northerly in 02 & to dual Cox plate winner Fields of Omagh in 03.

He was also 3rd in an epic Doncaster Hcp in 02 behind Sunline & Shogun Lodge.

He also won the following G2 races
Warwick Stakes, Theo Marks Hcp, Canterbury Stakes as well as winning the Listed Royal Parma Stakes.

What a great record 34 starts for 10 wins & 14 minor placings & even more remarkable when you consider the elite company that he was more often than not racing in.

Fancy listing the likes of Pearl Tart winner of a single lowly by comparison G1 Tatts Tiara or Invest who also only won a single lowly G1 South Australian Oaks and NOT even giving a mention to the grand old campaigner DEFIER.

Storm form slump

Re: "Storm searching for answers"

"Coach Craig Bellamy as well as his players are mystified - and frustrated - about the side's inconsistent form, with their attack the latest part of their game to fall apart."

Can anybody tell me why they didnt use the benefit of that howling gale behind them in the second half to attempt to achieve multiple forty twenties?

(Particularly in the dying minutes)

Talk about "frustrating".

The second half was a nightmare to watch for anyone who backed the Storm.

Why continue trying to pull one up in that tiny little in goal area when it became pretty apparent early in the second half that the wind was going to contine to blow it over the dead ball line time and time again?

I reckon that Craig Bellamy has got a lot to answer for for not picking up on this factor early in the second half.

What might have been had they used a different form of attack?

I aint no expert & I certainly aint no coach
BUT
Am I right or am I wrong?

Cheers from,
