Bob Peters struck early on Day 1 at this year's Inglis Classic Sale, landing an Ocean Park colt that Peters' bloodstock agent Damon Gabbedy said 'blew the budget completely'.

Gabbedy went to $460,000 for Lime Country's colt by Ocean Park out of the Pentire mare Sacred Rhythm.

"We blew the budget completely, he was way over our limit but, anyway, that's the one he wanted from the whole sale so I think that will be it for the whole sale," Gabbedy said.

Ocean Park counts multiple Group 1 winners Tofane and Kolding as progeny, while Sacred Rhythm was a winner of the Listed Taranaki Oaks Prelude (1800m).

The Ocean Park colt is Sacred Rhythm's second foal with the first an unnamed two-year-old by Almanzor.

Gaddeby does not expect Sunday's buy to be named early, either, with the colt to be given plenty of time to mature.

"Mr Peters is a very patient owner, he loves Ocean Park, he breeds to him and he's a perfect sire for what Mr Peters likes; give them a bit of time and be more of a three and four-year-old.

"He's not going to aimed at any of the two-year-old races. You just have to be a little patient, that's what Mr Peters does, he gives them time and patience and has a lot of success doing it that way."
