Victoria will soon welcome a son of Invincible Spirit – the sire of Australia's premier stallion I Am Invincible – with Shalaa to relocate to Woodside Park.

The Eddie Hirsch-owned operation on Thursday announced that the dual Group 1-winning two-year-old in Europe would be taking up residence at their Tylden property.

Shalaa has stood the previous six seasons at Arrowfield Stud, where he has produced the likes of Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Shaquero, Group 2 Reisling Stakes winner Seven Veils and last week's Group 3 Auraria Stakes winner Jennilala.

He stood his first four seasons at Arrowfield at $33,000, covering an average of 155 mares a year, before serving 88 mares at $44,000 in 2021 and 111 mares last year when back to $33,000.

Securing Shalaa has been a long-term project for Hirsch, who expects the 10-year-old – who will stand for $22,000 – will be popular with Victorian breeders.

"I have been eyeing off Shalaa since the start of the yearling sales season," he said.

"Being a champion two-year-old in both England and France, I believe he is ideal fit for the lucrative VOBIS scheme, especially the new VOBIS Sires Boost program, which has $30,000 in bonus vouchers on races."

Shalaa has been added to a Woodside roster that last year included Vancouver, Foxwedge, Rich Enuff, Tosen Stardom and Delaware with fees for the remainder of the 2023 roster to be announced next week.
