Less than 24 hours remains in the rare opportunity to purchase a share in a horse guaranteed a start in this year's Melbourne Cup just two weeks out from the $8 million event.

On offer in the Inglis Digital October (Late) Online Sale is a one-tenth share in imported stayer Future History, who sealed his spot in this year's Melbourne Cup with victory in the ballot-exempt The Bart Cummings earlier this month.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained gelding is third favourite for Friday night's Group 2 Moonee Valley Cup, which carries a $450,000 winner's cheque.

The leading bid at 4pm Tuesday was $80,000.

A son of Showcasing, Future History started his career in France before being sent to Australia, where he has had five starts for two wins and two seconds.

Final bids on Future History will start being taken from 12.15pm on Wednesday.

He is one of several headline acts in the Inglis Digital October (Late) Online Sale with three-time winner Kote, who last started in the $1 million Silver Eagle, holding a bid of $85,000 late on Tuesday

Superium, who is qualified for a start in the $3 million The Big Dance at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day, is also part of the sale and held a top bid of $60,000.
